MaxVeloSSD Updates
MaxVeloSSD™ RAM and SSD Cache Software from EliteBytes™ Limited
Summary
MaxVeloSSD⢠is based on the reliable and high-performance VeloSSD Software. With the addition of unique fast RAM caching it opens the door to a new dimension of storage velocity. Breaking the bottlenecks of PCIe and SATA specifications it easily outperforms SSD speeds. MaxVeloSSD is faster than VeloSSD and SSD.
It is a 2 level caching System, with a level 1 cache made out of system memory ( RAM) and a level 2 cache made out of SSD space. Designed to deliver ultimate caching speed it has reached its goal. Continuous Research, Development and Test. This software supports now up to 2 Petabyte Host Volumes. It requires only little RAM to manage Caching of these high Capacities. Compared to earlier Versions of this product the RAM footprint was reduced by more than 95%.

Changes in Version 3.5.2.3
A number of severe bugs have been removed in this version. Also parts that had nothing to do with the code. S.u. Well, a lot had accumulated. The graphical user interface will will offer a number of new options for the future in this version the foundation is laid. Older options were already out removed from the graphical user interface.
Bug in the area Small RAM packet allocation removed. This led to instability in previous versions.
Removed unwanted increase in RAM cache: Writing larger amounts caused it to grow which led to instability.
Dirty RAM Garbage collection Bug fixes.
Guarded instead of Fast Mutex. Faster on modern Windows platforms
SSD blocksize align away, better use of space.
SSD space management improvement: Scan Resist algorithm has been removed. Was too unpopular.
RAM allocation standardized on nonpaged. This removes possible sources of error
Intended for Windows tablets: SD Card support further developed. But remove and reinsert the SD card is not yet supported.
Hebrew and Serbian language support improved. Was faulty before.
Removed DAX mapping. Experimental support for "Direct Access" DIMM memory.
S.M.A.R.T support has been removed. Too complex and strange for cache / performance software.
Usual digital signature for older clients and all server operating systems. Additional digital signature for the following Windows 10 versions: Windows 10 Client versions 1506 and 1511 x64 (TH2) Windows 10 client version 1607 x64 (RS1) Windows 10 Client version 1703 Client x64 (RS2) Windows 10 Client version 1709 Client x64 (RS3) Windows 10 Client version 1803 Client x64 (RS4) Windows 10 Client version 1809 Client x64 (RS5) Windows 10 19H1 client x64 Windows 10 Vb Client x64

Changes in Version 3.1.0.7
The 3.1 Version is optimized for high IOPS and low Latency. Depending on the underlying hardware it is 40-60% faster then the 3.0 Version. This optimization took quite some effort, therefore it is a paid upgrade.
November 24 2016
Changes in Version 3.0.0.24
Thoroughly tested with newest Microsoft Windows OS. Allows for bigger SSD and RAM Caching than before, resulting in more caching power for the same price. The Product Activation Section was updated. This Version allows to pin files and Directories into Cache. Introducing the new WarpOver™ technology architecture. Finally the cache engine has been updated to be more robust in low memory conditions.
Changes in Version 2.3.6.0
The parallel performance control enables users to adjust the number of threads ( simultaneous executions of the cache engine ).
Changes in Version 2.3.5.0
Thoroughly tested under Windows 10. Bugs with multiple cache Data Volumes removed. Bugs in the Cache engine were removed. Bugs with recovery after power loss were removed. Recovery is now quicker, especially when the write cache is filled up. Earlier versions needed to write the Write Cache back completely before boot. That could result in frustrating long boot times. Internal corruption due Power loss / reset occurred every once and a while. This is fixed. If an internal on disk structure is corrupted ( possible write error while loosing power ) fallback failover recognizes and replaces it.
Changes in Version 2.3.3.9
Restart after power off / reset was reworked and will restore the Volumes State transaction safe in no time at the next startup. There is no Data loss or loss of Transaction safety. The system is restored to the state it had 0 to 10 seconds before the power off. Other small changes enhance quality of service of cache.
Changes in Version 2.3.3.4
The Cache engine was optimized to handle really big Volumes (up to 2 Petabyte ). There is no RAM memory overhead involved. Compared to earlier Versions the RAM usage in relation to Host Volume size was reduced by more than 95%. This is possible with our advanced caching algorithms that do not use “Cache Lines” or “Bitmaps” any longer.
Changes in Version 2.3.2.0
Reacting on public demand, we added “Write Through” and “Scan Resistant” Operating Modes to the Cache engine. The Application was extended to allow user changes and settings to these new Cache Modes. Please see the new Chapter: ”Scan Resist and Write Through”.
Changes in Version 2.3.1.7
The Software will run in all popular Virtual Machines. It exposes complete functionality with Pass through Disks and Virtual Disks. No restrictions. The Software implements S.M.A.R.T Services for Host and Cache Disks. It will warn the users if the Hardware is problematic. The Cache engine uses a new Read/Write Lock Algorithm that performs better than before. This is for peak performance. Several other changes improve stability and behavior after power loss / Reset.
Changes in Version 2.3.1.5
Added a feature that loads the cache with any Folder. Minimizes Cache heat up/ramp up time drastically. More about this in the Chapter “Load Folders in Cache”. This version adds also a chart control to the application. It allows precise visualization of IOPS/MBPS. Cache Hit/Miss and Data export in XML. There is also a chapter about Charting in this book. Support for Cache on Software RAID SSD Volumes was overworked. Windows 10 Preview compatibility was added. On big fragmented Cache a CPU Hog/Honk was removed ( Rare Condition) .Numerous Detail changes, please see the Change log for full reference.
Changes in Version 2.3.1.0
Version 2.3.1.0 Release of MaxVeloSSD. Support for USB3.0 and SDHC Cache Media was added. Many Laptop owners can now use any USB3.0 Stick to accelerate their HDD driven Laptop. This version includes several Bug fixes too that enhance stability. For full information see the change list.
Version 2.3.0.0
Re-release of MaxVeloSSD. Commercial quality. The driver is guaranteed fail safe / crash proof in low memory scenarios and rare race conditions. This has been excessively tested with DriverVerifier, the W.H.C.K ( Windows Hardware Certifikation Kit ) and other software in our new test laboratory.
Version 2.2.2.2
supports host and cache volumes with no drive letter. Compatibility with ExFat and ReFS file systems.
Version 2.2.2.1
adds another powerful feature that enhances SSD lifetime and betters performance. For more information please look into the new “Write Elimination” Chapter.
