Higher Cache Performance in MaxVeloSSD Version 2.3.6.0 ( November 2015 )

The content on this pages is outdated and shows results from almost 10 years ago. Please excuse. Nowaday results show considerably higher performance due to newer hardware.

Why is it so much faster ?

It takes better advantage of Parallel Computing.

What is Parallel Computing ?

Parallel Computing, also called Multitasking is when a software executes more then 1 task at a time. This works well on Multi Core CPU´s but also on Single Core CPU´s.
.

We promised parallel computing benchmarks lately. Here we go...

We will see a direct comparison between 2 and 32 threads.

Performance Diagram in MaxVeloSSD

This Diagram shows performance with 2 and 32 threads. Quite impressive acceleration., up to 7.5 GB/Sec.

It ran on a M5A97 Board with AMD CPU.

Atto Disk Benchmark, running with 32 threads

We again used ATTO Disk Benchmark, this screen shows the run on 32 Threads.

Parallel Performance Dialog in MaxVeloSSD

MaxVeloSSD has a control where up to 64 Threads can be assigned to the cache.

It puts no load on the CPU in idle , the threads sleep until the workload demands them.

Performance Diagram in MaxVeloSSD

This Diagram shows performance with 2 and 32 threads. Even more impressive acceleration, up to 13.5 GB/Sec.

It ran on a P9X79 Board with INTEL CPU, DDR 3.

Performance Diagram in MaxVeloSSD

We again used ATTO Disk Benchmark, this screen shows the run on 32 Threads.

Rates over 10GB/Sec. are shown with an Exponent.

To be continued with results from a machine with DDR4
